Nine weeks have passed since the node strategy went live on the testnet and thus far, a total of 64 nodes are currently participating with 49 nodes participating in block generation. The participating nodes will share the testnet incentives of at least 265,000 NAS.
Progress last week
First PoD Governance Vote Initiated
The voting began on March 10 and will end on March 12 (UTC+8). The vote is still in progress, with 49 nodes eligible to participate. For a proposal to be successful, it will require a 50% success rate. The results will be announced once voting is complete. To see the current status of the votes, visit https://node.nebulas.io/govern.
Current voting proposals include:
A. NIP199 — Marks Proposal: POD Block Generation Penalties, More details
B. NIP200 — Nebulas Awareness Development & Content Creation Plan
C. NIP204 — 开通NAS nano钱包上币投票，让节点利益分配可以通过NRC20记账、管理(Chinese — translated: Opens NAS nano Wallet Coin Vote, allowing node benefit distribution to be accounted for and managed through NRC20)
D. NIP205 — Join the technical committee
PoD governance test
During the PoD governance voting, a bug managing the governance addresses was found resulting in the individual node governance address being empty. This issue has been fixed but has not been published to the testnet yet. The final joint test of the PoD consensus and governance mechanisms will be conducted after the active PoD vote. We have also communicated with relevant nodes about this issue.
If your node was affected and if you have any questions, visit the Telegram Nebulas Node channel at t.me/nasnode or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chrome plug-in publishing version 2.1.0
The Chrome extension NasExtWallet has been upgraded to version 2.1.0. This version includes 2 improvements:
A. Supports NAX display, transfer, and voting.
B. Gas limit default bug repair.
This version of the extension is currently pending approval for the Chrome store. To download it now, visit the Github page to download the installation directly. Note, however, that the download does not automatically overwrite the Chrome Store version, you must pause the current Chrome Store version before using the Github version. Install details as well as voting guide can be found at https://community.nebulas.io/d/690-guidance-of-governance-nodes-voting/3
Community Collaboration Platform Go Nebulas Upgrade
Go Nebulas has been upgraded with the PoD governance mechanism. This upgrade includes:
A. The ability to adjust the proposal type from In Progress and Closed to: In progress (user-created proposal), In-Progress (Voted for the proposal to be approved by the budget cycle for the proposal), Already Submitted (Has already established the corresponding project or has already executed the proposal), Closed (has not passed the voting proposal, etc.).
B. Improved proposal and project data.
Before the new mainnet is released, Go Nebulas will also have another update including the Go Nebulas interface information display and proposed additional budget cycle input.
Node platform upgrade
The PoD governance mechanism has been launched on the testnet and the node platform was also upgraded.
A. The Node Governance Voting page is live for all to see. The list of governance nodes, voting proposals, voting status can be viewed at https://node.nebulas.io/govern
B. The node block ranking page is live. Community members can view the change of node rankings and know whether a node will enter the next cycle of governance nodes.
The wiki.nebulas.io webpage has been updated including directory structure and contents. Changes in English and Chinese have been prioritized; Korean and Portuguese had not yet been revised.
- End of the testnet incentive period
When the PoD governance vote is complete, the testnet incentive period will also end simultaneously. The distribution of incentives will be made public to the community.
- Start Master Publishing Process
Exciting days are coming! After the final test is completed next week, the process of updating the mainnet is imminent — be sure to follow Nebulas closely while we complete this process. We will notify all nodes, exchanges and other parties to complete the upgrade in advance and prepare for the upgrade.
